Why I Started CyberYogi
I registered the domain cyberyogi.me on June 20, 2018.
At the time, I knew I wanted a personal website. I liked the name, but I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do with it.
Over the years, I considered different possibilities. Maybe it could be a technology blog, a place to share my experiences, or somewhere to document the things I was learning.
I had plenty of ideas, but turning them into something real wasn't always easy.
So I kept the domain.
Eight years later, in 2026, I finally started building the CyberYogi website.
Why CyberYogi?
The name comes from two interests that have been part of my life.
Cyber represents my interest in cybersecurity, computers, and the wider digital world. I've always enjoyed learning how technology works and understanding how different systems connect.
Yogi comes from yoga.
I used to practice yoga extensively. It was an important part of my life, and I wanted that interest represented in the name.
CyberYogi felt right because it wasn't limited to one profession or subject.
I've worked in IT, cybersecurity-related fields, satellite newsgathering, and caregiving. I wanted a personal website where I could share those experiences without having to fit everything into a single category.
Why did it take eight years?
I've often had more ideas than I knew what to do with.
Sometimes I would become interested in a project but struggle to decide where to begin, how to organize everything, or which direction to take.
I could spend a lot of time thinking about something without making much progress.
That changed when I began using AI more seriously.
AI gave me a way to discuss my ideas, organize my thoughts, compare approaches, and work through problems.
I didn't need to understand every technical detail before starting. I could ask questions, see examples, and learn as I went.
Of course, AI doesn't always get things right. I still have to review its suggestions, make decisions, and correct mistakes.
But it has made projects that once seemed difficult feel more manageable.
Two websites, two different purposes
A few months after registering CyberYogi, I registered another domain: cyberguardia.io, on November 2, 2018.
CyberGuardia came from combining my interest in cybersecurity with my surname, Dela Guardia.
Although I registered both domains in 2018, neither website really began taking shape until 2026.
CyberGuardia became my technology support business website and my first substantial AI-assisted website development project.
That experience helped me return to CyberYogi.
The two websites now serve different purposes.
CyberGuardia focuses on my technology services. CyberYogi is more personal.
What comes next?
I want CyberYogi to be somewhere I can write about technology, AI, cybersecurity, broadcasting, caregiving, and whatever else I happen to be learning.
I also want to become better at using AI to develop websites and applications.
I'm still learning how all the pieces fit together.
But that's part of why I wanted to build this website in the first place.
After keeping the domain for eight years, it's good to finally have somewhere to put those ideas.
